Summer & Best Friends In Australia

Late nights,
Boy fights,
Beach times,
Pick up lines,
Belly tops,
Flip flops,
Blue skys,
Hott guys,
Up all night,
Pillow fights,
Lemonade,
In the shade,
Midnight kisses,
Secret wishes
Our tans may fade
but the memories will last forever

Flirt

This is an expression of how i feel when i go out clubbing sometimes.

"A DANCE to make you notice.
a LOOK to catch your eye.
a SMILE to make you curious.
a TOUCH to start the fire.

A NAME to introduce us.
another DANCE to make you yearn.
some WORDS laced with DESIRE -
sealed with a KISS to make you BURN."

[2006]

To TEASE and FLIRT is an art when done correctly... a subtle language of the body between two beings

Time

Time is too slow for those who wait,
too swift for those who fear,
too long for those who grieve,
too short for those who rejoice,
but for those who love, time is eternity

The Carpenter

Peter was watching the gates of Heaven, but he really needed a bathroom break. He asked Jesus to watch the gates for a few minutes, and Jesus replied "Fine." Peter took the book which lists everyone who's supposed to get into Heaven with him to the bathroom to have something to read.

As Jesus is stood there, he saw an old man leading a donkey up from Earth to Heaven. He notices the old man has carpenter's tools with him. When the old man reached the gates, Jesus told him he didn't have the book, but asks the old man to explain his life and why he felt he should be admitted into heaven. Jesus would then make the decision whether or not to let him in based on the story.

The man explained "In English, my name would be Joseph, but I didn't live in America or England. I lived a modest life, making things out of wood. I'm not remembered very well by most people, but almost everyone has heard of my son. I call him my son, but I was more of a Dad to him, he didn't really come into this world in the usual way.

I sent my son out to be among the people of the World. He was ridiculed by many, and was even known to associate himself with some pretty unsavory characters, although he himself tried to be honest and perfect. My single biggest reason for trying to get into Heaven is to be reunited with my son."

Jesus is awestruck by the man's story. He looks into the old man's eyes and asks, "Are you MY earthly father?"

The old man's face brightens; he looks at Jesus, and asks, "Are you my Pinocchio?"

A Prayer For The Twenty-First Century

May the road be free for the journey,
May it lead where it promised it would,
May the stars that gave ancient bearings
Be seen, still be understood.

May every aircraft fly safely,
May every traveler be found,
May sailors, in crossing the ocean
Not hear the cries of the drowned.

May gardens be wild, like jungles,
May nature never be tamed,
May dangers create for us heroes,
May fears always have names.

May the mountains stand to remind us
Of what it means to be young,
May we be outlived by our daughters,
May we be outlived by our sons.

May the bombs rust away in the bunkers,
And the doomsday clock not be rewound,
May the solitary scientists, working,
Remember the holes in the ground.

May the knife remain in the holder,
May the bullet stay in the gun,
May those who live in the shadows
Be seen by those in the sun.

Two People In One

Two people in one,
one happy, one sad.
Two sides of me,
one mad and one glad.
There's only one side
I try to let show;
my feelings inside
the others don't know.
I'm two people in one,
as strange as that sounds,
the real me inside
no one has found.

Lonely Child

This is one of my own poems...

Somewhere in the dark
A little girl is hiding,
Waiting in the shadows
Quiet as a mouse.

No one there to comfort her,
Alone as can be.
Just a frightened little girl
In an old empty house.

Will someone come and find her
And show her the way?
Help her wake from this nightmare
Into a bright and new day…

But alas she sits and waits –
Poor defenseless child.
Dying on the inside,
Abandoned to the night.

It’s a dreadful scene
And all too familiar,
A child should never have to see
And hear her parents fight.

My Country

Every time I hear this famous Australian poem I get tingles down my spine. It means everything Australian to me and I feel that only a true Australian at heart would feel this way. It’s the calling of the land, an ancient source or power and energy.

My Country
The love of field and coppice, Of green and shaded lanes.
Of ordered woods and gardens Is running in your veins,
Strong love of grey-blue distance, brown streams and soft dim skies
I know but cannot share it, my love is otherwise.

I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons; I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror -The wide brown land for me!

A stark white ring-barked forest, all tragic to the moon,
The sapphire-misted mountains, the hot gold hush of noon.
Green tangle of the brushes, where lithe lianas coil,
And orchids deck the tree-tops and ferns the warm dark soil.

Core of my heart, my country! Her pitiless blue sky,
When sick at heart, around us, we see the cattle die-
But then the grey clouds gather and we can bless again
The drumming of an army, the steady, soaking rain.

Core of my heart, my country! Land of the Rainbow Gold,
For flood and fire and famine, she pays us back threefold-
Over the thirsty paddocks, watch, after many days,
The filmy veil of greenness that thickens as we gaze.

An opal-hearted country, a wilful, lavish land-
All you who have not loved her, you will not understand-
Though earth holds much splendour, wherever I may die,
I know to what brown country my homing thoughts will fly.

I'm Just A Girl

A song for every guy that has ever been confused by a woman
Dont try to understand us - just love us!

I'm Just a Girl - Bachelor Girl

I might be a little concerned with my hair
I might need comfort, more than my share
I might seem to follow fashion, but claim that I don't care
My heart is your best friend, when it rules my head

I might want to talk alot, but don't ask me why
And I'll get impatient, if you don't reply
I might always search for something wrong, I want you to deny
And if you love me just stay close, and hold me when i cry

Chorus: Don't try to understand me, I'm just a girl
One of the greatest mysteries, you'll find in this world
I'm not hard to handle, I'm just a girl......
I'm just a girl

I don't seek money, but I want your time
Cos I'd give my life for you, when you are mine
And it hurts me more than I can say when you pull away
But if you love me, you should tell me everyday

[Chorus]

I might like to take advice, but go my own way
And it's when I hurt the most, I swear I'm okay
And it's always when you least expect, I say I want to stay
Might take just a single kiss, to steal my heart away

[Chorus]
